Eric M. Scharf – founder of Scharf Creative Services (SCS) – has been involved in the greater software and interactive media industry for studios, agencies, and corporations since 1991. He is well-established, having collaborated in-house or remotely – as a permanent resource or consultant – on domestic and international projects and products for Brøderbund, Activision, Nova Logic, Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA), Midway Games, BreakAway, Ltd., SiTEL, Ignition Entertainment, Google-Motorola Mobility, Inc, Publicis Groupe, Mars, The Mosaic Company, and many others.



Through various capacities – using agile, waterfall, and mixed methodologies
– Eric has helped build the distributed teams, engage the clients, frame the creative concepts, outline the user experiences, shape the development processes, execute the launches, and guide the market presence for a wide variety of software products, both domestic and international, consumer and enterprise, entertainment and business, covering a broad spectrum of genres, and spanning several mainstream hardware platforms.

Production environments and hardware platforms – with which Eric is and has been familiar – include Apple (iOS / MacOS), Android OS, Microsoft Windows / Windows Mobile, Meta Quest, Pico, Super Nintendo / Nintendo GameCube, Sega Genesis / Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation (1, 2, and 3), Microsoft Xbox / Xbox 360, as well as proprietary location-based entertainment (LBE) systems.

Production management software used by Eric has included Perforce, Subversion, Confluence JIRA, Confluence WIKI, various CMS's (Vignette, Umbraco, WordPress), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office365, Google Docs, Campaign Monitor, Redmine, Smartsheet, and Various VPN & S/FTP clients.

Creative software tools, CGI 3D packages, and real-time 3D environment technology utilized by Eric have included Gamebase USA Gamebryo, Unity, Epic Unreal Engine, Newtek LightWave 3D, Autodesk 3D Studio MAX, Nichimen Mirai, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Softimage, AutoDesSys form•Z, Specular International Infini-D, Impulse Inc. Imagine, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.

Eric’s product delivery experience covers a range of commercial product types and themes, including gaming software – AAA, XR (AR, MR, VR, and WebGL), entertainment, serious / simulation / training, edutainment, casual, and mobile – and virtual worlds, as well as digital business / marketing solutions (responsive, CMS-based e-commerce sites, enterprise productivity software, and gamification apps).
